How many baggages can you check in? What is the weight limit for each baggage item? Find out all you need to know about checked baggage.
Since 1 July 2012, AIRCALIN applies the piece concept baggage allowance. This new rule replaces the previous weight allowance, which were 20 kgs. for Economy class passengers and 30 kgs. for those in Business class.
Your baggage allowance indicates the number of baggage that you can transport in the hold at no extra charge. The authorised allowance is indicated on your e-ticket or travel document.
The same rule applies throughout Aircalin’s network, with the exception of flights on the direct or via Nadi Noumea – Wallis – Noumea route. Furthermore, a different allowance applies on flights between Noumea and France.
On Aircalin’s network, your checked baggage is carried free of charge within the following baggage allowance limitations:
| Economy Class | 1 piece of baggage of 23 kgs |
| Hibiscus Class | 2 pieces of baggage of 23 kgs each |
| Infant (less than 2 years old )Regardless of the travel class | 1 piece of baggage of 10 kgs |
Definitions:
One Piece of Baggage = One Baggage with a maximum weight of 23 kgs.
The baggage combined dimensions (length + width + height) must not exceed 158cm.
For a baggage weighing between 23 and 32 kgs, a fee does apply. Please, refer to the rates.
If a baggage weighs more than 32 kgs, it will not be accepted in the hold and shall be shipped as Air Freight. Please contact Aircalin Air Cargo who will seek the most appropriate solution.
You can carry a number of baggage items above the authorised allowance, by paying excess luggage fees. Please, refer to the rates.
On code-sharing flights, the valid baggage allowance is the one that is indicated on your e-ticket (i.e., the airline’s allowance that has issued your e-ticket).
To meet client special needs on this route, the “by weight” regulation will be kept with the following allowances:
In Economy class: 23 kgs
In Hibiscus class: 30 kgs
For flights between Wallis and Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Papeete, or Port Vila via Noumea, the piece concept rule applies.
The valid baggage allowances on connection flights in Noumea to and from France operated by Air France, KLM or Finnair are the one defined in the below paragraph:
