In accordance with Government regulations & guidelines in preventing the propagation of the coronavirus COVID-19 to New Caledonia, Aircalin will now operate the below flight schedule:

 

Flights to repatriate  passengers to France :

These flights, 2 times a week, these flights will allow  as a first step to bring back non residents to their country.

These flights will come back WITHOUT passengers due to the limited capacity of the dedicated confinement structures in New Caledonia. (Cargo flight only between Tokyo and Noumea) and are scheduled under exemption.

- Tuesday  7 April 2020 Nouméa-Tokyo departure from  Noumea at 00 :55am . This flight will connect with Air France flight Tokyo/Paris-CDG

- Saturday  11 April 2020 Nouméa-Tokyo departure from  Noumea at 00 :55am . This flight will connect with Air France flight Tokyo/Paris-CDG

Repatriation of passengers between Noumea & Sydney : 

  • Flight Noumea-Sydney Friday 3 April departure from  Noumea at 08:35am

This flight is accessible  only to passengers meeting the Australian government requirements to enter Australia. 

 

  • Flight Sydney-Noumea Friday 3 April departure from Sydney at 1:40pm

This is a repatriation flight. This flight is accessible to New Caledonian residents. This repatriation flight is only accessible to the passengers  granted of an authorization to board by the New Caledonian government on this specific flight according to the strict protocol they set up. (nominative list). 

 

REPATRIATION OF PASSENGERS FROM TOKYO TO NOUMEA

  • Flight Tokyo-Noumea Friday 3 April departure from  Tokyo  at 12:15am

This is a repatriation flight. This flight is accessible to New Caledonian residents staying in Japan. This repatriation flight is only accessible to the passengers granted of an authorization to board by the New Caledonian government on this specific flight according to the strict protocol they set up. (nominative list). Please note that this flight will not board any passengers in transit from another country than Japan. .

  

REPATRIATION FLIGHTS FOR PASSENGERS GOING FROM WALLIS TO FRANCE 

  • Flight Wallis-Noumea Thursday 4 april departure from Wallis at 10:00pm

This flight is accessible ONLY to the passengers in Wallis travelling to France connecting on SB 800/AF4020 3 april departure at 00h55am to Tokyo and Paris. This flight, according to the Wallis authority instructions will not board any passengers travelling to Noumea as their final destination. 

 

Cargo flights :

Until the 3 of May, 2 flights per week will operate with the wide body aircrafts A330neo to transport the necessary cargo to New Caledonia. These flights will not transport any passengers except upon request of the NC government according to the needs of his repatriation plan.

 

A cargo flight Noumea -Wallis is scheduled Thursday 2 april ( this flight will not transport any passengers). 

 

All the other flights are cancelled in accordance with the Governement’s ruling authority official order  

 

From 27 march 00:00am, some special requirements are applicable to all flights departing to/from France, New Caledonia,  French Polynesia and Wallis et Futuna.  From this date, access to these flights will be strictly limited to emergency ( medical evacuation, family imperative, professionnal trip that could not be delayed). The concerned passengers are requested to fill a sworn statement and provide all the requested  proofs. For French Polynesia, these measures will be effective 29 march 12:00am.

 

These new measures are not blocking the tourists to return to France.

COMMERCIAL CONDITIONS & CANCELLATION POLICY

Aircalin has been working closely with the authorities to keep you informed of any developments regarding the impact of the Coronavirus on our flights and travel to and from New Caledonia.

To allow you to book your trip with complete peace of mind, Aircalin extends its exceptional commercial measures to its entire network and offers you more flexibility.

For all Aircalin tickets (ticket number starts with 063) purchased at one of the company's points of sale or through of one its distributors, whether these are already existing tickets or tickets that will be booked up until April 31 the following conditions apply:

- the postponement of dates and / or changes of destination will be free of modification fees for rescheduled departure before November 30, 2020 (however, readjustment will be made to the applicable level if the initial price is no longer available)

- for passengers with bookings for travel before 30 June 2020 who wish to cancel their initial booking,  Aircalin will waive cancellation fees and give a non-refundable voucher (to the value of your current booking) valid for 1 year for purchase of a new Aircalin ticket. If you wish to cancel your booking, you can contact us at our dedicated email address annulation-covid@aircalin.nc mentioning your booking reférence, first and last name, email address and phone number.

TRAVEL TO THE PACIFIC, JAPAN AND FRANCE

TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA  ( update 25 march 2020-10 :45pm)

Effective 2100 Local time Sydney 20 March 2020, foreign nationals will not be allowed to enter Australia.  
o This does not apply to Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family, including spouses, legal guardians and dependents.
o This does not apply also to New Zealand citizens transiting to New Zealand and Pacific Islanders transiting to their home countries.

All travellers must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

The Australian Government has directed that no Australian citizen or permanent resident may leave Australia by air or sea as of 1200 AEDST (at the place of departure) on 25 March 2020.

Transiting to Australia is possible only if complying with the below requirements :

  • Transit the same day and the passengers are staying in the transit area
  • The foreign passengers coming from New Zealand can transit in Australia up to 26 march midnight.
  • The Pacific Island passengers (included New Caledonia) transiting in Australia to come back home.

Transit exemptions do not apply to any foreign nationals who have been in China, Iran, the republic of Korea or Italy in the last 14 days.

TRAVEL TO NEW ZEALAND (update 29 march 2020- 08:45am)

New Zealand Government announcement

The New Zealand Government has further strengthened its travel restrictions and has closed the border to almost all travellers, apart from New Zealanders. The border will be shut to overseas travellers from all over the world, and applies to travellers boarding a craft that departs to travel to New Zealand from 23.59 on Thursday 19 March 2020. The travel restriction does not apply to : 

-New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and residents with valid travel conditions, and their immediate family, 

-Australian citizens and permanent residents are also able to travel to New Zealand, where New Zealand is their primary place of established residence
-Diplomats accredited to New Zealand and currently resident in New Zealand
 All travellers must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

Passengers heading to New Zealand need to have self-isolation arranged. This is a requirement for boarding.  

All travellers must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival at their port of disembarkation. If passengers have a domestic transit flight, they will not be allowed to connect to that flight.

Transit closed to all except Australians going home​. If you want to transit, you need to remain airside and not enter New Zealand. If you enter New Zealand, you will be required to self-isolate.

TRAVEL TO VANUATU (update 20 march)

The Vanuatu government has closed completely his borders from 20 march. Nationals, permanent residents, diplomats can be authorized to enter Vanuatu if they are complying with the below conditions :

  • -To have family in Vanuatu ;
  • -Coming back to Vanuatu  after  a Business trip ;
  • -To have commercial investment in Vanuatu ;
  • - Child visit of overseas students;
  • -Maximum transit in Australia and New Zealand of 8 hours.

All travellers must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

TRAVEL TO JAPAN ( update 29 march 09:30am )

Effective 19 March 2020 at 0hrs Japan time, foreign nationals who hold a Chinese passport issued by Hubei/Zhejiang Provinces or who have visited following countries/regions or areas within 14 days of arrival in Japan will not be able to land in Japan except under special circumstances for the time being:
o Iceland
o Italy
o Switzerland

China : Hubei Province, Zhejiang Provinces

Republic of Korea : Daegu City / Cheongdo County in North Gyeongsang Province ; Gyeongsan / Andong / Yeongcheon City, Chilgok / Uiseong / Seongju / Gunwei County in North Gyeongsang Province

(*1) Restrictions on areas and countries (*1) are not applicable for foreigners who have departed overseas before March 27th 2020 0:00 (JST) and arrived in Japan on or after March 27th 2020 0:00(JST).

• Effective 21 March 2020 at 0hrs Japan time until end of April 2020, the validity of single-entry visa or multiple entry visa issued by 20 March 2020 at a Japanese Embassy or Consulate General in the above States in blue will be suspended. Also, visa waiver will be suspended for the nationals of the above States. 

Transit is authorized as far as the passengers remain airside with his boarding Pass to outbound flight and  according to the rule applied on the final destination

 

TRAVEL TO FRANCE ( Update 17 march)

As of 17 March 2020, 11:00 UTC (12:00 Paris local time), the French President announced the complete closure for 30 days of the borders outside the european area, Schengen area, and UK.  

Only the following passengers will be allowed to board flights to France:
- European Union (EU) nationals as well as British nationals
- family members of nationals of the European Union (EU) and Great Britain
- residents of the European Union and Great Britain
- nationals of other countries provided that they have a connection to a country outside the European Union (non-EU) and if the measures taken at their destination allow them to board.

 

 

TRAVEL TO NEW CALEDONIA

Covid-19 (Update 24 march 2020- 09:30am)

The New Caledonian Government informs ALL passengers (residents and non-residents) planning to travel to New Caledonia that if they  decide to maintain their travel, they will be systematically placed in  strict confinement in a dedicated structure once they have collected their luggage. A dedicated shuttle service will transport them to the confinement structure, where they will remain in isolation and will not be allowed to see their family. Family members will not be permitted to transport them to their place of quarantine. Furthermore, all passengers boarding flights  to New Caledonia will need to present a medical certificate dated in the last 3 days.

The representative of the French Authority in New Caledonia has advised  that all non-resident foreign passengers  will be denied entry into New Caledonia. As a result all non-resident passengers will be prevented from boarding flights to New Caledonia. This measure will affect all  non-resident foreign passengers including Europeans (except French Nationals).
